Profile of the Trust

Vidyavardhini Charitable Trust - Satara (VVCT), was established in 1998, with an objective of providing quality education to the people of this area. The Trust has been registered in 1998 under Bombay Public Trusts Act 1950 and Societies Registration Act 1860. Since its inception, the trust has been active in the field of education, establishing various institutions such as:

  • Abhaysinhraje Bhonsle Intitute of Technology (Polytechinc)
  • Chhatrapati Shahu Academy
  • Shrimant Prashantiniraje Nimbalkar Pre-primary

 

VVCT also awards scholarships in the memory of late Shrimant Chhatrapati Abhaysinhraje Bhonsle in the fields of Education and Sports to the children of the farmers of this region.

In the future, VVCT plans to start an Engineering degree college, a Dental college, a Medical College and a Residential School.

 

Considering the socio-economic challenges of rural India, VVCT contributes to the upliftment of the society by making an effort to address these challenges.  Activities like forming various Women Self-help groups, campaigns to ban the use of plastic bags to conserve the environment, tree plantation drives, campaigns to spread awareness about the harmful effects of alcohol and gutka consumption etc are undertaken on a regular basis. VVCT also provides care for HIV infected orphan children.
